From our humble beginnings in 1937, Vortex Doors’ philosophy has always been to provide each customer with a superior experience in door, gate, and dock equipment repair and service.
In 1996 Vortex Doors started serving the Seattle, WA area when Keith Smith, Team Leader, who transferred from the Orange County Service Center to start a new Service Center in Seattle.
Smith started off as a Service Technician 31 years ago in Orange County and has been with the company ever since.
As the Seattle Service Center Team Leader, Smith: “I am proud of our growth in the Seattle area and the great team in place. I am excited to be able to provide a new, larger building designed with state-of-the-art equipment and technology for our employees. Our customers will truly benefit from us being able to keep more stock in our shop and add more trucks to our fleet so we can continue our fast service.”
The new building is 14,000 square feet, compared to the last building at 7,400 square feet! Vortex Doors nearly doubled the warehouse space, truck storage, and safe workspace. The new space will occupy 11 office team members, 16 Service Technicians, and 12 service trucks.
The building used to be one large 100,000 sq. foot space, but was recently divided into two units. One of Vortex Doors’ vendors will take over the other spot. It also backs to the largest Amazon Fulfillment centers in WA.
The biggest advantage to a larger building is the additional space for added trucks and inventory. By having more trucks and inventory Vortex Doors’ technicians are able to service more customers, while continuing to fulfill their speedy promise. Service Technicians will also have more room to move around without damaging the inventory and allow for a safer work space.
