Do you service all brands and manufacturers?
Yes. Vortex is brand agnostic, so we repair and maintain equipment from any manufacturer. We aren’t tied to a single distributor, which means we source parts from all manufacturers and recommend what’s right for your opening.
Can you work on older or discontinued doors?
Often, yes. Our team has deep experience with hard-to-find and obsolete parts, and our technical engineers can retrofit parts for older doors. In many cases that saves you the cost of a full replacement.
Can one technician handle different door types in the same visit?
Yes. Our technicians are cross-trained on all door types, so one visit can cover your storefront, your dock doors and your back gate. Many of our service calls are completed by a single technician, which helps to keep your costs down.
Do you repair, or do you only replace?
We repair first whenever possible. Replacement is the right call for some doors, but our goal is a long-term solution, not a quick sale. When we do recommend a replacement, we’ll explain why and give you a written estimate.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Vortex is 100% self-performing. Every job is completed by our own trained technicians, so you get the same standard of quality and safety at every location.
Do you offer services beyond doors?
Yes. We also provide emergency board-ups, commercial glass and window replacement, ADA modifications, access control systems, Proactive Maintenance, emergency repairs and more!
Emergency Service and Dispatch
Do you offer 24/7 emergency service?
Yes. Emergency service is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on all door, dock and gate types. A door that won’t close, a dock leveler that’s stuck, a gate that won’t open: we treat it as urgent because it’s urgent for you.
How do I request emergency service?
Call (800) 698-6783 any time, day or night. After-hours calls are handled by our central answering team, who will then dispatch a technician to your facility. Have your facility address, a short description of the problem and the door location ready, and we’ll take it from there.
How are emergency calls dispatched?
Your call goes to the Vortex service center closest to your facility. We dispatch local technicians from that service center rather than from a distant central hub, which is how we respond in hours, not days. Our service trucks are stocked with common parts, so many repairs are completed on the first visit.
How fast will a technician arrive?
We measure response in hours, not days. Exact arrival time depends on your location, the time of day and the nature of the emergency, and we’ll give you an ETA when we confirm your call.
What counts as an emergency?
We repair first whenever possible. Replacement is the right call for some doors, but our goal is a long-term solution, not a quick sale. When we do recommend a replacement, we’ll explain why and give you a written estimate.
Can you secure my building after a break-in, accident or storm?
No. Vortex is 100% self-performing. Every job is completed by our own trained technicians, so you get the same standard of quality and safety at every location.
Do maintenance customers get priority?
Yes. Customers on a Proactive Maintenance Program receive priority service for emergency repairs, plus a free emergency service label on their doors with the number to call.

I don’t see a service center near me. Can you still help?
We measure response in hours, not days. Exact arrival time depends on your location, the time of day and the nature of the emergency, and we’ll give you an ETA when we confirm your call.
